Bio.

For as long as I can remember, I loved writing. I even dreamed in plots. I also grew up attending antique auctions nearly every weekend, so history was as much a part of my life as chores on the farm, reading books, and playing with Barbies.

Behind the scenes

About Writing

Whether I'm writing a historical or a contemporary, I see little difference. Times may change, the style of clothes may take on a different look, but the common threads that unite us remain the same. Couples fall in love. Injustices happen. We fight for what we believe in. We struggle. We endure. We grow.

I feel so blessed to be able to share the stories that God has put on my heart to bring joy and strength to my readers.

Family

After graduating from York College in York, Nebraska, with a A.A. degree, I transferred to Lubbock Christian University in Lubbock, Texas and graduated with a B.S. Ed.

When I returned to Iowa, I met and married the Love of my life, David. God had written our love story, and I know from the moment we met that he was the one.It wasn't love at first sight by any means, but I was sure he was the man I would marry--and it scared me to death. I didn't tell a soul, but I did write about it in my journal.

Two and half years later, we pledged our hearts and lives to one another. I taught high school English until my oldest child was born. After that, I began my career as a professional wiper. I wiped noses, counter tops, tiny tushes, tears, and the scraped knees of my own kids and the ones others allowed me to care for.

Once my children were older and less in need of my constant supervision, I started pursuing my first love again--writing. David and I have three adult children, but no grandchildren yet. He's an elder in our church, and we both teach Bible classes and are involved in 4-H.

a few fun facts

I'm also known as The Cookie Lady and sell cookies at Christmas.

I was once pulled over for bank robbery because my car, a 1974 Dodge Polara, matched the suspects getaway car.

I love singing and sang in college choirs all four years.

If you stop by my house, you might find a kitchen full of roses. I do some wedding planning and flowers for weddings.

My husband is 6'6" tall, and I am 14" shorter than him. Give me Josh Groban, Keith Urban, or show tunes to listen to, and I'm a happy woman.

Oreos are the best cookies on earth. Period. My youngest daughter weighed 11 lbs, 8 oz. at birth and she was 3 weeks early! (And no, that was not the result of the Oreo addiction.)
